Paul Bunyan Telephone presents the 3rd Annual Lake Bemidji Dragon Boat Festival July 31-August 2nd

Paul Bunyan Telephone is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the 3rd Annual Lake Bemidji Dragon Boat Festival July 31 - August 2nd in Bemidji. The event is organized by the Bemidji Rotary Club and Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce and the festival grounds are open Thursday through Saturday. Over 60 teams will be competing in this year’s races on Saturday, which start at 9 a.m. and conclude around 4:30 p.m. There will be great entertainment all weekend long in the Dragon’s Den, free of charge! Thursday will feature Mix 103.7’s retro 80’s show, Friday it’s Bob and the Beachcombers, and Saturday the festival concludes with the Fat Daddy’s.

Your cooperative is involved with all phases of the event again this year, including Chief Operating Officer Gary Johnson serving as co-chair of the entire festival, Marketing Supervisor Brian Bissonette serving as the Festival Announcer, and two Paul Bunyan Telephone teams racing. Boomerang and Paul Bunyan Telephone are excited to bring cartoon legends Yogi and Boo-Boo to the 27th Annual Tall Timber Days in Grand Rapids on Saturday, August 2nd! Bring the kids and the camera to have your picture taken with Yogi and Boo Boo from Noon until 3 p.m. on 3rd Street outside the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce! Tall Timber days features lumberjacks climbing 40-foot logs, a log rolling exhibition, chainsaw carving demonstrations, an arts and craft fair showcasing local and regional talent, a footrace which draws runners from all over northern Minnesota, children's street games, bingo tent, food booths and musical entertainment for the whole family!  A parade culminates a weekend of fun on Sunday afternoon.
