NetworkThe Tivo needs some way of connecting to Tivo's network for downloading information and reporting to Tivo. A wireless network adapter and a telephone cord are provided with your TIVO. You will need to use one of them to connect the Tivo. If you do not have high speed internet you will have to use the phone cord. If you do not have a wireless router/access point, you will have to use the phone cord or purchase an ethernet adapter from Tivo. If using the phone cord:

IR CableThe Tivo Infrared Cable needs to be connected in order for the Tivo to be able to change the channels on PBTV. The Tivo can only change the channels on the TV that is set to the channel 3 video stream.
Power CablePlug the Tivo into the power. It doesn't technically matter when you do this, but the instructions from Tivo say to wait until last. SoftwareThe Software Setup is fairly straight forward, but there are a few things you will run into.
